1、 Technical requirements for matching parts of machine, pump and mechanical seal:

1. The maximum shaft bending shall not exceed 0.05mm.  

2. All parts in the component meet the drawing requirements.

3. The gland shall be tightened after the alignment of the coupling, and the compression screws shall be tightened to prevent the flange surface from deflection.

2、 Installation requirements of mechanical seal for pump:

1. The compression of the spring shall be subject to the allowable error of ± 2mm as specified in the drawing.  

2. The runout of the shaft at the place where the mechanical seal is installed shall not be greater than 0.1mm.

3. The axial displacement of the shaft is not allowed to be greater than 0.5mm.

4. The manufacturing tolerance of the shaft at the installation mechanical seal part is h8, and the finish is 1.6.

5. The end of the shaft (shaft sleeve) where the moving ring seal ring is installed and the end of the sealing gland (or housing) of the stationary ring seal ring should be chamfered and polished.

6. The movable ring must be able to move flexibly on the shaft after installation.  

3、 Cooling and flushing of mechanical seals for pumps

1. The first type of cooling is to directly flush the seal end face with the clean medium delivered from the outlet or high-pressure end of the water pump, and then enter the pump cavity. Through the continuous circulation of the medium, the friction zone of the friction end face is moved to achieve the cooling effect.  

2. For the second cooling mode, a cooling water jacket is added at the back of the stationary ring on the basis of the first cooling mode, which improves the cooling effect and can be washed to collect the leaked liquid. When the sealing medium temperature is more than 150 ℃, forced cooling measures shall be taken in addition to cooling water in the cooling water jacket and at the back of the stationary ring. That is, the clean medium from the pump outlet should be cooled to 50 ℃ through the heat exchanger in advance. Then enter the sealing chamber for cooling and flushing, which is the best cooling effect.

3. If the medium of the pipeline centrifugal pump contains particles or impurities, filtering measures must be taken to input the clean flushing fluid at normal temperature into the sealing chamber.  

4、 Technical essentials of pump installation and use

1. During installation, the surface in contact with the mechanical seal shall be coated with a layer of clean mechanical oil for smooth installation;  

2. The sealing chamber of the equipment shall be kept clean during installation, and the sealing parts shall be cleaned to keep the sealing face intact and prevent impurities and dust from entering the sealing part;  

3. It is strictly prohibited to knock and bump during installation to avoid mechanical seal damage and seal failure;  

4. The radial runout of the equipment shaft shall be ≤ 0.04mm, and the axial runout shall not be greater than 0.1mm;  

5. When installing the stationary ring gland, the tightening screws must be evenly stressed to ensure that the end face of the stationary ring is perpendicular to the shaft;  

6. After installation, the moving ring can be moved flexibly on the shaft with a certain elasticity by pushing it manually;  

7. After installation, rotate the shaft by hand, and the shaft should have no sense of weight;  

8. The equipment must be filled with medium before operation to prevent the sealing failure caused by dry friction;  

9. For easily crystallized and granular media used in non clogging sewage pump, corresponding flushing, filtering and cooling measures shall be taken when the medium temperature is>80 ℃. For various auxiliary devices, please refer to the relevant standards of mechanical seal of centrifugal pump.
