Chemical pumps, centrifugal pumps, multistage pumps, self-priming pumps and various sewage pumps all use mechanical seals. The mechanical seal of the water pump is a vulnerable part. In order to ensure the normal operation of the water pump, the mechanical seal is generally replaced once every three months.

The structure and principle of mechanical seal for pumps are generally divided into two parts, dynamic ring and static ring. The pump seal is a plane seal, which prevents the flow of liquid inside and outside the seal during rotation through two smooth planes. Generally, the part with spring is moving ring.

1. The compression amount of the mechanical seal spring of the water pump is not allowed to be too large or too small, and the error value is ± 2.00 mm. If the compression amount is too large, the specific pressure of the section will be increased, and the wear of the section will be accelerated. If the compression amount is too small, the pressure will be insufficient, and the mechanical seal spring can move freely in the spring seat after installation. Pay attention to the rotation direction of the spring when using it, The rotation direction of the spring shall be opposite to that of the pump shaft.

2. After the seal moving ring of the water pump is installed, it shall keep flexible movement, and the moving ring shall spring back automatically when pressed against the spring.

3. Put the seal ring of stationary ring on the back of stationary ring first, and then install it into the seal end cover. Pay attention to protecting the static ring section of the mechanical seal, ensure the perpendicularity of the static ring section and the center line of the end cover, and align the anti rotation groove on the back of the static ring with the anti rotation pin, but do not make them contact each other.

4. During the installation of mechanical seal, it is forbidden to knock the sealing element directly with tools. It must be knocked with special tools to avoid damaging the sealing element.

5. Apply soapy water or other lubricants when installing the mechanical seal ring to avoid damaging the rubber ring during installation. Apply grease between the dynamic and static sealing faces of the mechanical seal to prevent the dynamic and static sealing faces of the mechanical seal from wearing before the pump starts.

6. When assembling the mechanical seal floating ring, be careful not to touch the floating ring spring to avoid affecting the floating performance. After the floating ring is assembled, try to press it gently to confirm whether it has good floating performance.

7. When installing the mechanical seal, it should be handled with care to avoid damage to the mechanical seal. The mechanical seal and cavity should be cleaned during installation.

8. When strengthening the mechanical seal of the water pump, the stress on the bolts should be uniform to avoid damage to the mechanical seal due to uneven stress. For the quick assembly mechanical seal, do not forget to fix the radial moving path of the positioning piece far away from the shaft after assembly.
