First of all, the metal ring used in the mechanical seal has no corrosion resistance. If it directly contacts with corrosive media, its surface will be corroded. At the same time, corrosion spreads to the inside and due to deformation, the exposed part after deformation will suffer more serious corrosion, which will slowly lead to leakage of the mechanical seal.

Secondly, the non-metallic graphite ring used for mechanical seal will also be corroded, which is usually caused by high section temperature, improper selection of impregnating resin and insufficient depth of impregnating resin.
