Mechanical seal overview
1. Definitions
The device is composed of at least one pair of end faces perpendicular to the rotation axis, which are kept stuck and relatively sliding under the cooperation of fluid pressure, elastic force (or magnetic force) of compensation mechanism and auxiliary seal to prevent fluid leakage.
2. Basic structure
Mechanical seal generally consists of four parts:
① A pair of sealing end faces composed of stationary ring (stationary ring) and rotating ring (moving ring), sometimes called friction pair, is the core of mechanical seal;
② Compensation buffer mechanism mainly consisting of elastic elements (or magnetic elements);
③ Auxiliary sealing mechanism;
④ A transmission mechanism that rotates the moving ring and shaft together.
